This is a Hogan, it is were families lived in the not too distant past. Quanah's grandparents lived in one.
There are eight support post that are encompassed with Cedar (Juniper) logs, then covered in clay.
The Hogan's doorway always faces east.....

We had our own guide and truck.....
a lot of folks foolishly brought there own cars..........
and a lot bottomed out, got stuck in sand dunes, or regretted ever coming because the damage....
some came in rent-a-cars..who gives a "....." , it's a rental...

and after two hours of bouncing around like lotto-balls we headed back......
We drove the Westfalia to the other side of the valley (Utah)
and set up camp for our first night in the camper.....yeaaaaaa!

Hooooray! You got to Monument Valley, I'm glad this stop wasn't canceled due to delays. Isn't it amazing there? (When we were there in 2009 we just drove the route ourselves, no problem with that.)
