Monday, Cinco de Mayo was busy. The oil change followed by Albuquerque & beyond

Monday, Cinco de Mayo was busy. The oil change followed by a fruitless trip into Albuquerque. Albuquerque is flat, sprawling, hot, full of traffic, road construction and delays, and overall, not very charming.
(We were hoping to find Walter White's house from "Breaking Bad".......only found a book)

We left. Headed north 60 miles to Santa Fe. Now, Santa Fe.....there is charming. We made over way to the old town, (it is the oldest capital city in the US). The streets were line with hundreds of quaint shops, eloquent restaurants, colors, flavors and smells. We got lost in the atmosphere. Wandering on street after street, shop after street vendor.

Ate street food from a taco stand. Karla had the chili rellenos wrapped in corn husk (spicy). I, a chicken fajita. We sipped fresh limeade, and watched from a park bench, as the locals walked by. The town is to be seen.

We wished to stay. It was all I could do to pry Karla from gloriously colorful shops, with their hanging tamales, rugs, blankets, jewelry, hats and woven clothing. I exited one shop four times. I would look back, and Karla was enticed back in.....finally purchasing a stunning orange and yellow hooded shirt.

With much regret we started back on the road. 3:45 and 380 miles to Lubbock,, Texas. We arrived at an Econolodge, 10:30pm central time.
Straight to bed, no Rv Park tonight.
In the morning, Austin, Texas was the place to be. The plan stop in at the. Austin Beerworks Brewery, to visits Thomas at work.

The four owners of the brewery
