Began our 380 mile trek across west Texas.......Chased trains
We took turns driving through farm towns, gas stations and ranches.............
Battled furious winds all day, blowing the poor Vanagon side-to-side while avoiding semi's, (doubles and triples). The Interstates are 75 MPH, the secondary roads are 70 MPH. There were no shoulders, two lanes each way separated by a tiny yellow line. My knuckles were white, forearms in agony and psyche frayed by the end of the day.
But we made it..........
-pulled right into the brewery.....
Hugged Tom.....met his coworker Brian..........
Bellied up to Bar..........
What to do...sooo many choices........
Oh yeah...the HEISENBERG
"Well Ma...whad-a-you think"
Karla says, " What's with the boy and girl?" beer cans
Brian told Tom he could leave and go to dinner with us.
He knew of this exquisite ramen restaurant where we had the house special, ate with chopsticks and enjoyed being with "The boy".
($24 complete for all three with an Alamo beer)
We dropped Tom back at work, fought with Austin traffic, went to Lowe's for tools to work on the Vanagon. Then parked in the front yard of Tom's house. Met his roommates, Brian, Alex and Matt, and went to bed in the camper.............'nother long day.
i love that you pulled right into the brewery!
