I didn't know what to wear....

George says, "layers".  We went from 31 to 108.  I am stumped.

WE didn't forget about you, our loyal bloggers!

MOMUMENT VALLEY. The Navajo Park was my all-time favorite place of all.  Red rocks and spires. We went to the Visitor Center on our way in...    It was recommended by a young Navajo girl that we wouldn't want to take our Vanagon into the steep, switchback turns, and unpaved dirt.........

We thought about it...

Quantah was the tour guide for George and me. This Navajo young man had a four wheel drive open backed truck.  We sat in the wide open space.  Quantah talked a mile a minute.  We learned a lot!

At night, we stayed in the upper loft of our Vanagon, bathed in the stars and the moon.  On Sunday, I woke to NOT WANTING to get out of bed.  George was comfy as well.   I thought about the Navajo Fry Bread and Honey which was just out of my reach...and stretched, and yes, I got up. On the road again..

We drove thru Tuba City and Mexican Hat, onto Cortex where we had a "to die for" breakfast at Beny's Diner.  I had the Chile Verde omelet (green chile, fresh avocado, sour cream, cheddar cheese) with homemade hashbrowns and two pancakes.  It was $8.99.

Cheers, Karla

  1. Love the food descriptions! And it seems like you really lucked out with the tour guide - a personal tour, yay! Pictures are awesome. Although it still sounds way too HOT for me....
