Saturday started with a trolley ride into the French Quarter.
We met Hill, Fran and Jess at the ferry boat for a ride on the Mississippi river.
We stopped in the sister town of Algiers,,went to a cafe
...walked around the town...returned to New Orleans and had lunch at the Crazy Lobster
Everyone tried something different, Karla had the alligator sausage sandwich.....
then into town we went
at one point on Bourbon street, I turned around and ran into Arnold Schwarzenegger................
he didn't recognize me.
off again..Italian suit and shoes in hand
Hillary with the "Gyro" woman..........
We walked to the girls bed and breakfast....many, many blocks in the rain, heavy...
after that Karla was "done in", (so was I) her and I walked numerous blocks to where a taxi could be hailed...back in our abode, Karla showered while I walked to the local grocer. We left Tom with the girls.....
Another adventure for the 'did I ever tell you about the time...." file! Nick also experienced the flooding of the streets during the rainstorm. Too bad you didn't meet up with each other! He and his friends really enjoyed themselves...great food, great music....hard to beat! Can't wait to see where you are off to next. MEG
